SPEAK UP AND IGNORE WHAT THE WORLD SAYS

“For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.” Luke 12:2, 8:17, Matthew 10:26

If you are anything like me, and you believe in calling a spade, a spade; you would have had every manner of groundless accusation leveled at you. You see, in this world of politically-correctness, pointing out wrongdoing is a bad practice. It’s too direct; too hurting; and it doesn’t take into account the fragile feelings of the person who made the mistake. Indeed, Jesus was right when He said,

“…the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light,…” John 3:19

It has become more socially correct to accept wrongdoing than to correct it; more socially correct to hold the tongue than to correct wrong belief. And woe be unto him to tries to correct another, for the collective multitude of condemnation of those around will come down upon him like roaches fleeing a lit torch. The world seems content to wallow in its own cesspool of wrong belief and wrong action; and will snap at anyone who thinks that they should do differently. Truly,

“For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.” John 3:20

But beloved, if you have been wrongly accused when you tried to set right a wrong, if you have been put down because those around you would rather continue in their ways than to do things right, take heart, for as the Psalmist says,

“Great peace have those who love Your law,
And nothing causes them to stumble.” Psalm 119:165

You see, Jesus said,

“For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.” Luke 12:2, 8:17, Matthew 10:26

And He said it three times.

“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.” Luke 8:16-18

When you see something go wrong, how is it that you are aware of the error? That is because you have the Spirit in you and

“…the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” John 14:26 [AMPC]

As He teaches you, as you HEAR his instruction, as you RECALL all that Jesus has taught you in the scriptures and in your life, you will realize the error, and you will be convicted to do something about it. So that is why for you, beloved child of God, you have been able to pick out the error, for not all who are looking on see the error. Indeed, Jesus was right when He said,

“Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.” Matthew 13:11-13

Think about it, have you ever told someone that something was not being done right and the response you got was ‘what’s wrong with that’? You are not weird. You are not strange. The difference between you and them is that you chose to listen to the Spirit guiding you, whereas they, did not. They are as Jesus described, hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. So because you have taken heed of how you hear, because you have allowed the Spirit to guide you, that is why your eyes have been opened to the wrong that you see.

Now, after you have heard the leading of the Spirit, after you have been convicted to do something about the wrong that you have been made aware of, the next thing you will very naturally do is to tell someone about it.

“Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.” Luke 12:1-3

Here is another point of divergence between us and the world. Have you ever told someone about something that was not being done right and the response you got was ‘yes, but let’s just leave it and let it be’? Sure you have. And this is what Jesus is speaking about here. What makes hypocrisy? When the behavior goes against the beliefs. So when someone tells you to let it alone even though it is wrong, what does that make the person?

Now even though that person had the revelation in the spirit, because he chose not to do anything about it, he becomes like this person.

“Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’” Matthew 25:24-25

This servant was given a sum of money. But instead of doing anything with the money, he went and hid it in the ground. He chose to ignore the gift and ended up wasting it.

Now, the parallels to the knowledge, insight and revelation which our Father has given us is no coincidence. Jesus is telling us right here that we have been given insight, revelation and wisdom by our Father and we should use it. But some of us never do, because we are worried about how others will see us if we do. For example, say it has been given to you to see the errors in a plan, but you don’t speak up for fear of offending others, aren’t you burying your wisdom in the ground? And in the end, the wisdom is wasted. And what happens to those who waste gifts?

“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.
‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.” Matthew 25:26-29

So now do you know why it is that ‘yes it’s wrong but let’s just leave it alone’ will soon turn into ‘what’s wrong with that’? The more you choose to not act upon what you hear, the more you choose to speak against what you have been convicted to believe, the sooner your values will change and that gift of wisdom will no longer be there; because you have chosen to bury it under the lies of this world. It is just like when you have lit a lamp, you choose to cover it with a vessel or put it under a bed. The light of the wisdom given to you is no longer shining on your circumstance and not only will you continue to live in the darkness of the world, once the light runs of out oxygen, it will die out.

Beloved, you have been blessed with much wisdom. Don’t be afraid to use it. Don’t let the world stop you from using it. For to use it is the reason why our Father gave it to you in the first place. Use it. Change your world one problem at a time. And indeed, when

“Princes persecute me without a cause,
But my heart stands in awe of Your word.” Psalm 119:161

Remember, this is His word,

“For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.” Luke 12:2, 8:17, Matthew 10:26

Jesus, the light of the world, is going to show up the wrong in this world for what is it, and you are a part of it. So stand firm and keep the faith for

“Great peace have those who love Your law,
And nothing causes them to stumble.” Psalm 119:165
