JESUS WILL NEVER REJECT YOU

,

“It's easy to cry when you realize that everyone you love will reject you or die.” Chuck Palahniuk

The writer of Fight Club hit the nail on the head when he said this. Indeed, rejection is difficult to deal with. Rejection leaves us with a sense of not being appreciated, not being loved, abandoned. And this pain is amplified all the more when the rejection comes from someone you love. But beloved child of God, Jesus wants you to know that He will never ever reject you.

No matter how bad we get, Jesus always stands ready to receive us. In fact, He does not only receive us, He reaches out to us. He says,

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20

Notice the only condition to Him coming in and dining with us is for us to open the door of our hearts to Him? He does not tell us to first make ourselves right, or clean, or live a good life. No. Just open the door. Accept Him.

As He has told those who came to Him seeking the way into our Father’s presence,

“This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” John 6:29

All we need to do is to believe in Jesus; and believing means,

“Jesus replied, This is the work (service) that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He has sent [that you cleave to, trust, rely on, and have faith in His Messenger].” John 6:29 [MSG]

“I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the person whose ears are open to My words [who listens to My message] and believes and trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life. And he does not come into judgment [does not incur sentence of judgment, will not come under condemnation], but he has already passed over out of death into life.” John 5:24 [AMPC]

“But Jesus loudly declared, The one who believes in Me does not [only] believe in and trust in and rely on Me, but [in believing in Me he believes] in Him Who sent Me.” John 12:44 [AMPC]

Trust, rely on, and cling to. That is all. No other condition. Essentially, when we depend on Him, He will keep us from judgment, therefore not condemn us, and give us eternal life.

Throughout the Bible, Jesus proves to us just how much He will never reject us.

Even though Abraham did not wait upon God’s promise for a son and sired one with his servant Hagar (Genesis 16), God was still faithful and gave Him Isaac (Genesis 21).

Even though King David coveted Bathsheba and sent Uriah, her husband, to his death so that he could have her (2 Samuel 11), God still forgave Him and even blessed Him with a son, Solomon (2 Samuel 12).

When Jesus walked the earth, He passed a leper and this was what He said,

“When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” Matthew 8:1-3

When the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of His garment and was healed, this was what He said to her,

“Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” Luke 8:48

When people brought a woman caught in adultery to Jesus and sought to have Him condemn her, He said this,

“He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” John 8:7

And later, after all the accusers had left, He told her,

“When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” John 8:10-11

But more than that, if you let Him, He will seek you out, and reach out to you. Just as He did with the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4) and Zacchaeus (Luke 19).

Beloved, Jesus died for you even when you were in sin and did not know Him. For the apostle John tells us,

“He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:10-13

And even though we whom He created and love, rejected Him, and even though He suffered the worst kind of rejection possible when God our Father turned His back on Jesus, to which He cried,

“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Matthew 27:46

He still interceded on our behalf, as He was hanging there, on that cross, bruised, battered and torn for our sins. He still loved us so much that He could say,

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” Luke 23:34

Beloved, after knowing all this, how could Jesus ever reject you now? He stands at the door to your heart right now and as long as you believe in Him, He will come in and dine with you for He loves you.

And if by chance, you have heard His calling today, and you want to open your heart to Him and let Him into your life, so that you can be right with God, accepted by our Father, then say this prayer with me.

“Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me so much that you have never rejected me, you do not reject me and you will never reject me. Thank You, that in your divine knowledge, you knew that I would be led here today, and you knew that I would open my heart to You, and so You sent Your Son Jesus to die on the cross for me, so long ago; so that my sins are now forgiven by the shedding of His blood and I have newness of life because I have died to sin with Jesus and am now risen with Him and in Him. Thank You that now I know that whatever I have done, and whatever may happen in the future, my eternal salvation is secure because of Jesus and because of Your love for me. In Jesus name, Amen.”

Beloved child of God, our Father is waiting for you to run to Him, now that you have been made right with Him. Come to Him now and receive the everlasting assurance of His love.

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 3:16
