“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

This is a famous verse that is often quoted by many and used at many varied occasions. And if we truly realize the impact and implication that it has on our lives, we will understand its beauty.

Many people think that God is judging the world. But in truth, these verses tell us otherwise. For Jesus did not come into the world to condemn, He came to save us from the mess that we created. And because,

“And God the Father made Him to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

“Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.” Romans 8:33-34

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39
