The internet is a marvelous place. If you have a problem, all you need to do is head to a search engine and odds on, you will be able to find someone who has had the exact same problem before and has posted a remedy. But before long, you soon realize that for as well-meaning as those people may have been, their solutions do not always solve your problem and you end up heading back to the manufacturer.

In the same way, Jesus wants you to realize that there are many voices out there trying to tell you how to fix your problems. Though they are well-meaning, and may have worked for many others, your problem is unique, so only your manufacturer knows how to fix your problems, so bring your problems back to your manufacturer; bring your problems back to Jesus.

Jesus Himself tells us,

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15

Indeed, false guidance is dangerous to your state of mind, detrimental to the peace that Jesus wants you to have. The apostle Peter tells us,

“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.” 2 Peter 2:1

And we need to be careful of their teaching,

“For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error.” 2 Peter 2:18

Their words are certainly alluring and pull at your heartstrings and indeed many will be turned, for it is written that,

“For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.” Romans 16:18

“And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.” 2 Peter 2:2

So how do we tell genuine from the counterfeit? Jesus gives us the formula.

“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Matthew 7:16-20

In essence, anyone who tells you that you need to work for your salvation, that your sanctification is incomplete unless you work, and work hard toward gaining it, is leading you astray. For the apostle Paul tells us,

“But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8-9

This danger is so strong; Paul curses such people twice in two verses. So what then should we be hearing? What is the gospel to which Paul is referring? He tells us a few chapters later,

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.” Galatians 5:1-6

Yes, beloved child of God, Jesus and His work on the cross, His dying for your sins, His body broken, His blood shed, that and only that, could ever save you from your sins. That and only that can ever give you remission of sins. Believing anything else but that truth is falling from grace, separating yourself from God.

For Jesus Himself said,

“Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:27-28

In the message Jesus Paid For Our Penalties, it is explained that during the time of Moses, Israel already had a contract, a covenant, with God. This was made between God and Abraham. In this covenant, God takes care of everything, blesses the people of Abraham, gives them land, makes them fruitful; and on the people’s end, they had to get circumcised, as a mark of their covenant with God (Genesis 17:1-11).

Now, during the time of Moses, the people chose to change the covenant to one where it was no longer merely the act of circumcision that would suffice in the fulfillment of the covenant, man now had to do and obey all that the Lord says.

“Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” Exodus 19:3-8

God’s Word Translation brings this out even clearer,

“All the people spoke at the same time and said, “We will obey everything the Lord says.” Exodus 19:8[GW]

This meant that there was now a penalty to disobeying God. And that was death. And God, in His mercy, never meant that man should die. So He sent Jesus to die for us. He did this so that we may have remission of sins through the shedding of Jesus’ blood on the cross. This is the new covenant that Jesus came to bring; this is the gospel Paul was talking of. That is why Paul says circumcision now will not profit us anything. Instead it will put us back into the contract which put man’s salvation upon himself, no more in Christ. So anyone who tells you otherwise, should be accursed.

Beloved, if you believe in Jesus and His work on the cross, then you have righteousness, because of your faith, for it is written that,

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

And because you are now right with God, whatever problems you have in your life, you can bring to Jesus, and He will answer, for He has said,

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works that these will he do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14

So beloved, your warranty is still in force with Jesus. Bring your problems back to Him and let Him troubleshoot and solve.

And if by chance you have yet to make Jesus your Lord and Savior, and would like to take Him up on His offer of an everlasting warranty for all your problems, then say this prayer with me now,

“Heavenly Father, I thank You for Jesus and His work on the cross. I thank You that through His death, His blood shed, His body broken, I now receive full remission of my sins, health and wholeness in my body and I am now completely righteous in Him. Jesus thank You for opening the way for me to the Father, so that now I can come with my problems and know that because You love me, You hear me and will see to them all. So I commit to You all my cares and claim Your peace for my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.”

Beloved, you are now beloved in His sight. Start living the life that Jesus came to give you. And remember to always go back to Him, who made you.
