The psalmist David, when he was being persecuted by King Abimelech, wrote this psalm,

“I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall be on my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name with me.” Psalm 34:1-3

What an unexpected response! It is truly against the grain of our humanity to praise God in the face of trouble. In fact, the most common response we would be familiar with would be that of the disciples in the boat when the storm broke out.

“Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” Matthew 4:38

Is it not so true that the moment troubles come our way, we feel as if God has left us?

But beloved child of God, Jesus wants you to know that He hears you. He heard you and he always will. There is a reason why David was able to pen these words. There is a reason for his faith; and it is not intangible in nature. He did not get this revelation through meditation nor through a divine visitation. His evidence is very concrete.

“I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
The poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.” Psalm 34:4-7

Yes the Lord heard David. He showed David signs of His deliverance. There were things David could see so that he knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had heard him.

If you look back on your life, you will realize that to every trouble, there was always a resolution. As sure as every trouble began, every trouble had an end. So my friend, whatever you are going through, that trouble will end; because Jesus has heard you!

And isn’t it wonderful that the Lord delivers you from ALL your fears. Not just one, not just some. ALL. And He saves you out from ALL your troubles. And as if that is not enough, Jesus puts an angel right there next to you, encamps ALL around you, protecting you.

Jesus’ protection and deliverance is comprehensive and complete. Your mind and emotions are delivered when He delivers you from your fears. Your practical challenges in this world are also delivered when He saves you from all your troubles. Your image is also restored when He makes your face radiant. And after He has done all that, He puts an angel right there with you to minister to you. What a loving God! What a loving Father! What a friend we have in Jesus!

Beloved child of God, Jesus wants you to know that He hears you. Not just today, yesterday, and forever. As Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, His love for you is the same yesterday, today and forever. His protection is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus hears you. He will meet you in your time of need. Call out to Him and then rest and await His deliverance!
